But don’t take our word for it.  See what others have said:

“There is hope after all and we are on the right path travelling together.  We are talking.  We are sharing.  And we are forgiving! — Military Wife – married 3 yrs

“It has enhanced our reconnection after spending 9 months apart last year due to a Navy deployment.  It should be mandatory! In fact, we are sending both sets of our parents who have been married 40 years — Military wife–married 9 yrs

“It provided tools to improve our communication, opened new lines of communication, brought us closer together and gave us hope.” Senior Navy NCO – married 15 years.    “We realized we were not alone.” Navy reservist — married 4 years   “We have learned communication skills that we didn’t have and we have learned to put each other first!” — Navy Wife — married 9 years

“Since my husband’s return from 12 months in Iraq last March, I’ve felt an emotional distance between us – a wall that wouldn’t come down.  This weekend knocked down that wall! :)– Navy Wife

“This weekend we were praying about re-enlisting or getting out.  It was encouraging to talk to other couples who are thriving after years in the military!  We don’t hear that a lot from most people – and it was exactly what we needed to hear.  We had never heard of Military Ministry.  What a surprise and a blessing to have this support this weekend!  Thank you.” – Army Wife

This conference opened up the communication between my wife and I.  It has helped steer our marriage back on track and I am excited – and nervous – to get back home and implement the things I have learned.” Husband — married 4 yrs

“It re-opened some closed lines of communication.  We are talking and sharing like never before.  We are so much closer.  I love my wife!” — Pastor — married 9 yrs

FamilyLife and Military Ministry Partner to Assist Military Marriages

FamilyLife announced an enhanced plan to support American military marriages. “Defending the Military Marriage initiative encourages soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, guardsmen and reservists and their spouses to participate in marriage enrichment programs offered by chaplains at military posts around the country.  To provide resources to military marriages worldwide, FamilyLife has set up a dedicated website that offers resources specific to military marriages, as well as a downloadable sample of the HomeBuilders: Making Your Marriage Deployment Ready small group study, at www.FamilyLife.com/MilitaryMarriage.

“We want to do whatever we can to support military marriages,” said FamilyLife President, CEO and Co-Founder Dr. Dennis Rainey.  “We recognize and revere the tremendous responsibility and stress placed on our servicemen and women, and that such a career can truly take a toll on one’s marriage, family, and soul.”

In addition to the FamilyLife Military Marriages website, FamilyLife also offers a special military rate of $69 per person ($60 off the regular price).  To register, military couples may call 1-800-FL-TODAY.  For a complete list of the 100+ conferences nationwide, visit www.FamilyLife.com/Weekend.

“Making a marriage work is never easy, and it is difficult for any husband or wife to not ‘bring the office home,’” said Major General (Retired) Robert Dees, executive director of Military Ministry.  “When ‘the office’ is a battlefield, and a couple isn’t equipped with the necessary tools to deal with those experiences, the separation and the fear of losing one’s life or one’s spouse, the results can be disastrous.  In that spirit, FamilyLife and Military Ministry are committed to strengthening the bonds between the heroes who serve and the spouses they love.”

To date, over 380 articles have been published in major US newspapers and the WTR in Hawaii was featured on Honolulu TV station KHNL Channel 8 newscast as seen here.
